Doctor of Nursing Practice Program (DNP)
The American Academy of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) in 2004 recognized the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) as the terminal degree for nursing practice. A 2005 report from the National; Academy of Sciences (NAS) supported the creation of a nursing “non-research clinical doctorate” to prepare expert practitioners who could also serve as faculty. Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Graduate Nursing is pleased to offer such a degree—the Doctor of Nursing Practice.
